The MOE plays a significant role in enhancing the Ministry’s active participation in the international arena through mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the field of education with countries from Australasia, ASEAN, Asia, West Asia, Central Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. Bilateral cooperation is initiated through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
MOUs entail mutual collaboration and cooperation through the: -
1 |
exchange of academic staff, teachers, experts and students on programmes that will be of mutual benefit to both Parties. Such exchanges may involve teaching assignments and/or research that may result in a joint report or publication or study visit; |
2 |
provision of scholarships for further education in recognised institutions of higher learning of both Parties; |
3 |
development of bilateral programmes between institutions of educational excellence in technical, vocational and higher education that will mutually benefit both Parties; |
4 |
training of educational administrators and teachers; |
5 |
exchange of educational literature, teaching aids, information and demonstration materials as well as the organisation of relevant specialised exhibitions and seminars; |
6 |
provision of mutual assistance in the fields of information technology, computers, mathematics and sciences; and |
7 |
provision of other forms of co-operation as may be mutually determined. |
